Not too long ago, several prominent business people were asked if they had websites or internet presence and they each replied “no, but I have an email address.” This is the plight of the Nigerian lawyer. Very few are aware of what modern technology can do for their practice and those who are, have to spend an awful amount of money to generate power. Welcome to the Nigerian Lawyer. This is a site for both lawyers and law students who want to practice law on a global platform. The internet has made the world truly a global village…professionals and practitioners of every kind can be contacted using the world wide web. Yet Very few Nigerian Lawyers are taking advantage of all the opportunities these medium affords. The Nigerian Lawyer will take the lawyer practicing in Nigeria and any similar country through international practices and methods. At The Nigerian Lawyer, we will:
Give the Legal Practitioner a global outlook in the following ways -
- show the importance and relevance of the world wide web to doing business in Nigeria;
- there are several free and paid libraries online which will greatly benefit the legal practitioner;
- foreign investors looking contacts in Nigeria will go first to the internet;
- by posting articles and opinions on the internet, an authority is born.
- present Step by Step guides to having an internet presence;
- Reveal the fundamentals of Self Branding;
- Explain the use of the internet in intellectual property;
- Show you how to run and operate a law firm as a business and on a shoe string budget;
- Also shine the spotlight on Legal Persons who are using technology in their law practice and daily lives.
From time to time there will be guest bloggers and interviews. We welcome any impute or contribution.
This page will be continuously updated so please come back.
